Description: four legged wooden chair; wicker seat; four slats for back rest; black and gold label attached to chair back: "Office chair used by Virginia Mellinger, Edgar's first stenographer. Salvaged from the fire in 1942, it gravitated to plating department. Long after the move to the new plant, it was reseated and refinished by Les Loomer, a former personnel manager."

PLACEHOLDER Black walnut chair from the Grant House, later called Hotel Waseca, built about 1882 by a relative of General Grant. The hotel burned on Sunday, April 26, 1970. At that time it was owned by Jerry Nelson. There were 40 rooms plus the penthouse. Five departments fought the fire: Waseca, Janesville, New Richland, Owatonna and Waterville. Rocking Cradle. Material: wood. Size: 19" x 40" on 32" W. rocker base. Description: butternut, handcrafted construction; shallow box forms a child size bed; short spindles on each side near top; a wide rocker bar on each bottom end.
PLACEHOLDER Cradle Coverlet. Material: textile. Size: 43" x 57". Description: 7" square white and red cotton blocks sewn together in a checkerboard pattern to form a coverlet; the red squares are plain; each white square contains the outline of an animal or church that is embroidered in red; a 1 1/2" white cotton border on each side. This coverlet was used with the Minske cradle #60.14.2.

Description: reddish colored ribbed cylinder capped on both ends with shiny metal; central cylinder would have housed the batteries necessary for illumination; top contains a thick convex lens cover over a glass light bulb; side on off switch; bottom stamped: "Bond Electric Corp., Jersey City, U.S.A., Trade Mark Bond, Use Mond-Cell 102".
