Brass Fragment. Material: metal. Size: 1 1/8" L. Description: brass; hook fragment; tapers to hook end. Possibly from a British firearm. Circa 1790-1810.

Tinkler

Tinkler. (a-c) Material: metal. Size: 1/2" diameter. Description: brown colored brass; flattened sphere; metal loop for attaching to clothing. Native American brass tinklers, bells used for trade items. Ho Chunk or Winnebago.

Shard, Pottery

Pottery Shard. Material: pottery. Size: 1 3/4" W. x 1" L. Description: brown/black fragment; one side blackened with heat. Was attached to a collection card: "Museum of Waseca Chapter No. 565, A.A., Property of J.F. Murphy." Catalog description card (in script) reads: "Fragment of pottery found on North Shore of Clear Lake Waseca Co., Minn. Oct. 18th, 1885."

Material: textile. Size: 26" W. x 32" L. Description: white cotton muslin - wide waistband - 15" L. placket in back - full skirt gathered into waistband - six rows of 1/4" W. tucking 5 1/2" above hem - 1" W. hemstitching 3" above hem - 1 1/2" W. eyelet and embroidered fabric flounce as hem.

Material: textile. Size: 14 1/2" W. x 26" L. Description: off-white unbleached linen - handspun - unhemmed.

Iron Bear Trip. Material: metal. Size: 9" L. Description: dark brown iron trap with a twelve-link chain with double hook at one end attached to trap; curved trap and blade hinged in middle.

Description: four long wooden tines and a blade arranged perpendicularly at tool end (each tine about 7" from other and held in place by a narrow piece of wood); bent wood handle extends up from end, shorter handle attached to longer handle at a right angle with a metal bracket.

PLACEHOLDER Material: wood, metal. Size: 23" W. x 61" L. x 3 1/2" thick. Description: natural wooden rake head fashioned from a 1" W. x 1' L. wooden block - tapered wooden tines pegged into block (one tine missing) - rake head attached to a black painted wooden pole handle with a "Y" shaped piece of metal - black tape has been used to repair handle.
