Patrick McDonough Family. McDonough Residence. Material: paper. Size: 7 1/2" x 9 1/2". Description: black and white photograph of a large 2-story house with front porch, covered side entrance and Eastlake trim; identified as the Patrick McDonough family in front of their home near Waldorf. Seen here is believed to be Charles McDonough (son of Sheriff Michael and Rose Ann (Lynch) McDonough) and nephew of Patrick Jr. (holding the cello). Charles lived with his Uncle Patrick in 1900. He was the barber and died early of Bright's disease. Patrick McDonough Jr. played the violin in a band. He also started McDonough Hall in Waldorf. The little girl is his daughter Marcella (McDonough) Rhode and the woman Patrick's wife, Mary (McGuiness) McDonough. Two large black dogs lie one on each side of the family. This photo was taken in 1902 or 1903. Photographed by A. J. Lawin, Waseca, Minn. (Information transferred from photo back: Patrick McDonough was born in 1825 in County Sligo, Ireland; married Jane McTigue in 1850 there; died November 16, 1903 on Section 31 Wilton Twp, where he had settled by 1879. Patrick, Jr. was the son of Patrick McDonough and Jane Tiegue.) Patrick, Jr. later moved to town and he rented the house out. A fire caused the house to burn to the ground.
From Marcella Rohde estate. Patrick McDonough, Jr. owned 160 acres (SE quarter section) of section 30, Wilton township. It was known as "Maple Grove Farm." Portraits. Patrick McDonough was born in County Sligo, Ireland (ca 1825). He married Jane McTigue. Patrick, Jr. was the son of Patrick McDonough and Jane Tiegue.
