Box, Chalkboard

Chalkboard Box. Material: wood, metal, mason wood. Size: 9" x 11 1/2" x 2". Description: wooden rectangular box; front panel is a black chalkboard bordered with white letters of the alphabet and numbers 1-0; back has a sliding pegboard panel that opens for storage of chalk; top metal carrying handle.

This chalkboard box was a Christmas present for the Gigeay sisters in the 1950s. They had some old-fashioned school desks in their basement playroom in their house on E. Elm Avenue where they played school.
