Author's father, Donald Meschke was the butter maker at the Blooming Grove Creamery for several years. References to family members, her mother Eunice Meschke, sister Shirley Meschke Zimprich, neighbors, the Edwards, Stirens, Dethmer, Sutter, Knauss, Bloomer, the town of Morristown, butter making, and many other references to customs and everyday life during the 1940s and 1950s.
