Handcrafted 3-Legged Chair. Material: wood, metal. Size: 13 1/2" x 22 1/2" x 25" H. Description: dark stained and varnished oak chair featuring a one piece bentwood back and arm rest reinforced with one piece of metal strapping, triangular seat attached to a frame, 9 spindles around sides and back, three legs extend from back and arms attached with metal screws, legs braced to cross work frame at bottom with mortise and tenon joints.
This chair (possibly a child's chair) was crafted by Martin Seljeskog from Blooming Grove Township, Waseca County. Martin immigrated from Norway in 1888. Family names: Martin and Malena Seljeskog; their son Sigurd and his wife Helen Kritzer Seljeskog; Sigurd and Helen's daughter Janette Seljeskog Byrne. Brother Lars Seljeskog.
