Born on April 1, 1934, in Waseca to Ervin and Harriett (Schaetzke) Ewest. She attended Waseca High School. Following her education Scharol enlisted into the United States Navy. She worked for Liberty Mutual and Brown Printing in Waseca. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca and American Legion Auxiliary. Scharol loved her cats
