George McLaughlin, a member of the Fenian Memorial Committee of America, contacted WCHS and worked with Executive Director, Joan Mooney, on hosting a reception and luncheon following the grave ceremony at St. Mary Cemetery. The Fenian Memorial Committee of America had a memorial marker made in Rev. Patrick McCabe's honor for his part in the Catalpa Rescue in 1876. The marker is placed at the foot of his head stone at St. Mary Cemetery in Waseca County.
