W.E. Borland Restaurant Token. Janesville, MN. Material: metal. Size: 1" diameter. Description: silver metal disk; octagonal shape; relief print on one side: "W.E. Borland, Restaurant, Janesville, Minn."; print on reverse side: "Good For 10 cent In Merchandise."
All artifacts were found in the home of John Schmidt of Janesville, MN. John is a great uncle to the donor. Emil Felske was a family friend. John's father was George Schmidt. George was part of the Janesville Fire Department and owned a clothing store with Werdin. George also sold insurance. Janesville business: W.E. Borland's Restaurant. Note with coin states that in the 1900 and 1905 state census records, William E. Borland was listed as being a Restaurant Keeper.
