Description: brown paper; brown print: "Organized 1873, Minnesota State Fire Department Association, This is to certify that Geo. Schmidt of the City of Janesville State of Minnesota, was on the 12th day of June, 1946 duly elected an Honorary Life Member of the Minnesota State Fire Department Association"; signed by the organization Secretary and President.

All artifacts were found in the home of John Schmidt of Janesville, MN. John is a great uncle to the donor. Emil Felske was a family friend. John's father was George Schmidt. George was part of the Janesville Fire Department and owned a clothing store with Werdin. George also sold insurance.
