John Schmidt Diploma 1945. Material: paper. Size: 9" x 12 1/2". Description: red velvet cover, gold print on cover: "Minnesota Elementary Schools, Waseca County, Arthur Spletstoeser, County Superintendent of Schools"; white paper certificate inside; black print: "Waseca County, Minnesota Elementary Schools, This is to Certify that John Schmidt, has completed the Course of Study prescribed for the Elementary Schools of Minnesota, and therefore merits this Diploma, witness my signature given at Waseca, County of Waseca State of Minnesota, on this 25th day of June 1945, signed Arthur Spletstoeser, county Superintendent of Schools."

All artifacts were found in the home of John Schmidt of Janesville, MN. John is a great uncle to the donor. Emil Felske was a family friend. John's father was George Schmidt. George was part of the Janesville Fire Department and owned a clothing store with Werdin. George also sold insurance.
