Dog Tag and Record Number Tag of Lawrence Yess. Material: metal. (a) Record Number Tag. Size: 3/4" x 1". Description: aluminum diamond shaped tag imprinted, "Record Number & Destroy Tag EP2602". (b) Dog Tag. Size: 1/1/2" X 1 3/4". Description: steel tag imprinted, "Yess, Lawrence Fred 905424 AB T-12-44 USMCR P". A small metal ring runs through each tag to keep them together.

Lawrence Yess served in the U. S. Marines of the 28th Regiment, 5th Division and fought in the Battle Iwo Jima, February 1945, an island in the Pacific which was the site of one of the bloodiest and most famous battles of World War II against Japan.
