Snow Storm 1935-1936. Material: paper. Description: black and white photograph of a group of men with shovels standing next to a huge snow pile. Photograph labeled: "Opening Roads."
Note from donor: "Mabel and Margaret Matson taught at District 3 school. They stayed at the Schmidke farm during the school week. The Schmidke farm was NE of the school. Mabel and Margaret skied across the fields to the school. Margaret used to laugh about it – she had a damaged hip (broken when she was a child, maybe sledding) and she had some trouble getting over the fences. Margaret was later county school superintendent. This photograph is labeled 'Opening Roads' and appears to be taken at the same place as Margaret and Mabel's photographs that were labeled as being at the Schmidke farm."
