Wallschlaeger Family Papers. Material: paper. Size: 8 1/2" x 11". Description: yellowed paper; black print: "Organization Training and Division, School Section, Camp Holabird, Md. Whereas: Sgt. Jos. F. Wallschlaeger, 337th Machine Gun Battalion, has been a student in the School of Motor Transportation and has satisfactorily completed the subjects prescribed therein which constitute our course for Motorized Machine Gun Personnel. Certificate as an acknowledgement of proficiency therein: Operation, Maintenance, Adjustment, Road Repairs. Given under the seal of the Quartermaster Corps at Camp Holabird, Md, this third day of July 1918." Four signatures at bottom.
Joseph Francis Wallschlaeger Sr. was born in Waseca 26 May 1893 and died 15 November 1973. Joseph is buried at Fort Snelling. Joseph was the father in-law to donor. Joseph lived on Clear Lake and started the Pheasant Club and during WWII, they moved to the current Pheasant Cafe location at 104 S State Street, Waseca, MN.
