From Dale Lucas: "Jack Kramer tennis racket used by Dennis "Denny" U. Anderson, friend and teammate to donor, Dale Lucas. Dennis used this tennis racket both in high school and in college. Dennis was a high school tennis champion from W.C.H.S. (Waseca Central High School, Class of 1960) during the time when there was no tournament division by school size, which makes his remarkable achievements even more spectacular. He was the top player on our team and later became the number one player at St. Olaf College. I was the number two player in high school and doubles teammate of Dennis, but was in no way close to his caliber of talent or skill. Dennis, friends and I, including my brother Chuck, started playing tennis in Whitey Aamot's Clear Lake Park league at an early age, and spent countless hours on the courts every summer. Dennis was the best natural player I have ever seen. In spite of having to compete with schools that were many times larger than ours, and which had coaches far more experienced than ours, Dennis won numerous high school tournaments, including Conference, District and Regional championships. He later went on to win trophies at the Rochester Tennis Club and in other venues." Dennis was born 10 November 1942 and passed away at age 70 on 13 July 2013.
