Content: 181 pages plus appendix and index; personalized stories of Robert Fuller, born in northern New York to Benjamin Franklin Fuller, a Union Soldier in the Civil War; Robert eventually made his way to Minnesota; several of his letters are written from Smiths Mill in Waseca County; he met and married Phoebe (Phebe) Sutherland in 1881; they owned the Westlawn Carriage Horse Farm in Mapleton in partnership with John Willard; after some financial losses they moved to Redwood Falls and started another Westlawn Horse Farm; Phebe attended Mankato Normal School and taught school in Eagle Lake and Janesville in the 1880s; Phebe was also instrumental in starting one of the first libraries, a cemetery association, the local Red Cross and was an active Suffragette; the book contains many personal letters, photos and references to events in American history.
