Kujath and Lee Wedding. Material: paper. Size: 3" x 4 1/2". Description: black and white photograph of groom Walter E. Lee and bride Irene Elizabeth Kujath. The Waseca Journal, June 14, 1939 documents the wedding that took place at St. John's Lutheran Church in Waseca on 10 June 1939. The groom and his attendant wore white suits and dark blue ties. The bride was attired in a gown of white embroidered mousseline de soie over taffeta with a fitted bodice, short puffed sleeves and a square neckline. She wore a pearl necklace the gift of the groom. She wore a fingertip veil caught with roses and carried a bouquet of Johana Hill rosed baby breath and white pompoms. The bride wore white linen pumps. (Alternative names: Wally Lee. Irene Kujath. Irene Elizabeth Kujath was born in Waseca County 7 March 1917 to Mr. and Mrs. Carl Kujath and married Walter E. Lee at St. John's Lutheran Church in Waseca County 10 June 1939. Walter was born 4 April 1911 to Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Lee of Minneaplois and was in the service and died 22 December 1944 while at Pelelius Island in the South Pacific. He is buried at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Irene's second marriage was to Leslie Vernon Johnson. Irene died 10 November 2002 and is buried at Crystal Lake Cemetery in Hennepin County. Leslie or Les was born 12 May 1911 and died 20 October 1991 and is also buried at Crystal Lake Cemetery in Hennepin County. Donor, David Lee, is Walter Lee's newphew. David Lee is the son of George Lee. George and Walter were brothers.
