Description: white stationery, 3-page typewritten letter addressed to Reba Wadd of Hopkins, Minnesota on April 23, 1980 from her friend Gayle Gardner in Janesville; page one includes a personal letter from Gayle; pages 2 and 3 are the written history of the Janesville Mothers Club which began with a group of young mothers in 1941 for the purpose of organizing to bring a close understanding and unity between mother and child; over the years the club projects included getting a kindergarten started in the public school, getting a school hot lunch program started, providing a school sickroom, World War II efforts such as folding bandages, furnishing comfort kits for soldiers, March of Dimes campaign; in 1957 they nominated fellow member, Reba Wadd for Janesville Mother of the Year which led to her being chosen as the Waseca County Mother of the Year in 1957.
