Baptismal Gown. Material: textile. Size: 16" x 18". Description: white cotton batiste infant dress with skirt gathered to yoke bodice; two tiny lace rosettes at front waistline; plain round neckline opens at the back in short placket; short sleeves edged with white cotton crocheted trim; two tuck pleats encircle lower edge of skirt; white cotton crocheted edging around scalloped hemline.

Note from donor: This dress was worn by Amelia Prax Pfeifer (born May 1, 1878), Clara Pfeifer's mother. Amelia Prax: b. 5-1-1878 - d. 12-30-1912 from Tuberculosis. Her parents were John & Theresa Prax. All are buried in St. Jarlath's Catholic Cemetery in Waseca County. Amelia married Julius Pfeifer 11-9-1897. They had 4 children: Henry, Clara, Frank and Louis.
