Harold Tesch. Waldorf resident. Harold Frank Tesch was born in Waldorf on January 26, 1925. He was confirmed at the Lutheran church in Waldorf and graduated from Waldorf High School. He was drafted into the U. S. Army in May 1944 after his graduation. He spent 14 weeks in basic training at Camp Fannin, Texas and attended engineering school at Fort Lewis, Washington. On December 6, 1944, Tesch shipped out on the E. B. Alexander, a troop transport ship that arrived in LaHavre, France on December 20. He was stationed part of the time in Landsberg, Germany. He obtained the rank of T/S Corporal and was awarded badges for serving in the U. S. Army American Theater, the Army Service Forces, the Army Wings of Heroes and recognized for meritorious service.
