Waseca School Children in Classroom. Material: paper. Size: 5" x 7". Description: black and white photo of elementary age children seated in their classroom; a demo post office is set up in a corner with a girl at the window and "patrons" lined up to mail their letters; all seated children are turned away from the camera except one girl who is turned toward the camera with a smile. Note from donor: "Miss Mausehund taught 1st grade at Central School from 1947 – 1953. She set up a Post Office to mail Valentines in February. This is her class in 1947-48 (February 1948) (the Central graduating class of 1959)."

Miss Ellen L Mausehund was born January 19, 1913, in Manannah Township in Meeker County, MN. She taught first grade at Waseca Central School from 1947-1953. She then taught in St. Louis Park until she retired. She passed away November 29, 1993, in Litchfield, MN, at age 80.
