The Vivian Post Office was active from 1858-1905 after which time it was transferred to New Richland Post Office until about 1908; then it transferred to Waldorf and was located in the William Ewert General Store until that building burned in 1956. After the fire the post office then relocated to a building that had been the Waldorf jail located on the east side of Main Street; it remained in that building until it was incorporated into the Waldorf Community Building built in ca 1998.
