The real-life Carney, Marion Willard, later married William Everett of Waseca, grandson of the original EACO Mill owner, also named William Everett.
The donor is the great-daughter of William Everett, co-founder with Aughenbaugh, of the EACO Mill in Waseca. The Everett home, built by William's son Edward Everett, overlooking the east end of Clear Lake, was a showplace in its time, a classic Victorian-style home, the Everett house was demolished in 1958; it was an architectural and historical loss to Waseca County. This book is signed by donor Louise Everett King, daughter of William and Marion Everett. Maud Hart Lovelace was the author of the famous "Betsy-Tacy" book series.
