World War I Uniform of Olaf Olson. Material: textile. (a) Jacket. Size: 17" x 27". Description: olive green wool jacket; five metal buttons down front; four pockets on front of jacket each with metal button; patches on both sleeves. (b) Shirt. Size: 19 1/2" W. x 33 1/2" L. Description: olive green cotton long sleeve shirt; seven buttons down front; button on each breast pocket. (c ) Pants. Size: 17" x 39 1/2". Description: olive green wool pants; five metal buttons and one plastic button on front; eyelets on each leg for laces.
World War I uniform belonged to donor's Great Uncle Olaf Harry Olson. Olaf was originally from New Richland and is buried at Fort Snelling. His father, Ole P. Olson, was a civil war veteran and is buried at LeSueur River Lutheran Cemetery. WWI
