Pail, Milk
Milk Pail with Strainer. Material: metal, wood. Size: 13" Diameter x 9" H. Description: silver metal pail; wooden handle grip at top of metal wire handle attached to sides of pail; top half of pail covered with metal lid with circular opening covered with a screen; small metal handle attached at back near bottom of pail.
Art Sutlief is a grandson of Asa Sutlief, first settler in the county. Some early milk pails had a built in strainer which was more convenient when milk was poured into pans for the cream to rise. This type of pail used before milk cans were invented.
