Clarence Naske in World War II Uniform. Material: paper. Size: 3 1/2" x 5". Description: black and white photo portrait of a young man wearing a World War II uniform, identified as Clarence Ernest Naske of Waseca. He was a life long member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Meriden, Minnesota.
Clarence Naske. Born February 25, 1911 and died April 8, 1991. He entered the U.S. Army on March 10, 1941, trained at Camp Grant, Illinois and embarked as a medic with the Medical Detachment on September 20, 1943 for an engagement in New Guinea, Luzon. He was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre ribbon, the Philippine Liberation ribbon, two battle stars, a bronze Arrowhead, the Purple Heart (he was wounded by schrapnel in Guam), the American Defense Ribbon and the Victory Medal. He returned to the the States on May 21, 1945 and was discharged on September 5, 1945 with the rank of Technical Fourth Grade. Clarence Naske and Sylvina Rosenau were married in Waseca County on October 10, 1945. His second wife was Selma Steve Raetz of Waterville. He was a life long member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Meriden, Minnesota.
