Henrietta Wendland Kaiser of Iosco Township, Section 21, Vivian Township, Section 28. Mrs. Carl (Henrietta Wilhelmina Wendland) Kaiser, "Etta", was born on the Atlantic Ocean, on 27 May 27 1860 and was married on 1 December 1876 in Iosco Township. This hutch was brought to Vivian Township when they moved to Edgewood Farm on 7 October 1887, where it remained until her son, Henry Wilhelm Kaiser, retired from the farm to Wells, MN in 1952, taking it to 515 Broadway, Wells. His daughter, Ethel B. Kaiser, kept it until her death in 31 December 1987, when it passed to her sister, Ermily L. (Kaiser) Wetzstein, to be donated to WCHS. Right side was trimmed in 1952, on one side to fit on back porch, leaving left side intact so as to allow a pattern for repair or restoration later. Artifact donated to Farmamerica with the stipulation that if Farmamerica closes then the artifact shall become the property of the Waseca County Historical Society Collection as specified by donor. June 2023: All WCHS items that were previously on loan to Farmamerica were sold at public auction, absorbed into the Farmamerica collection or transferred to the Historical Society Hodgson Hall Collection in June 2023 when the collection agreement between the two entities was ended.
