Three Quarter Grooved Axe. Material: stone. Size: about 4" x 8". Description: gray stone; three quarters grooved; edged on wider end; broken edge; groove encircles narrower rounded end.
Found along the Cobb River in Freedom Township, Waseca County. Three quarter grooved axe used by Native Americans. Dr. Schirmer of Minnesota State University, Mankato visited 2 July 2013 and determined that this is a Native American tool. Currently displayed in the flat exhibit case located on the museum balcony timeline.
