Holder, Dairyman's Memorandum

Dairyman's Cream Can Identification Case. Material: metal. Size: 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" with hanger extension. Description: copper case with metal hanging loop at top; a detachable hook is attached to loop - a narrow spring-hinged plate covers an opening in the face upon which to write a memo on the paper housed inside case; stamped in the metal below the plate: 'Richard Haugan", a New Richland dairyman - an opening on one side of the casing allows a sliding frame insert to which paper can be attached to rollers - two operating knobs extend from the frame on one side to move the paper under the open slot - stamped inside front cover plate: "Jensen-Sunde Co., New Richland, Minn. Pat. Nov. 27 23, No. 1475303".
This artifact was purchased at the Elko Antique Show from Larry Blasing, Waseca County Resident. The patent number was traced to inventor Fred S. Jensen of New Richland, Minnesota. Mr. Jensen's patent information is printed and attached to the donor form. The item was originally the property of Richard Haugan, New Richland dairyman who lived east of New Richland on Highway 30.
