Hauck was the owner, editor and columnist of the Janesville Argus from 1952 - 1959. In his memoir, Hauck mentions some Janesville names e.g., Jack Dahl Jr., Oscar and Oather Troldahl. Hauck personalized this copy by writing: "To the Waseca County Historical Society. Mark Hauck"
