Maternity Suit. (a) Jacket. Material: textile. Size: 15" W. x 24 1/2" L. Description: long sleeved cream cotton rayon blend - four cloth covered buttons down front - small black velvet collar - small lapels - slash pocket on each front side - designer label in neck back: " Phil Jacobs, Kansas City". (b) Skirt. Material: textile and metal. Size: 17" W. x 20" L. Description: cream colored matching jacket fabric - mid-calf length pencil style - tummy cut out front - narrow band waistline closure with small metal buckle and loop - designer label sewn into waistband.

Eileen purchased this maternity skirt and suit jacket in 1956 in Manhatten, Kansas where her husband was stationed with the US Army. She wore this outfit in 1956 and 1957, her child was born in May of 1957. They moved back to Waseca County in the beginning of 1957. This dress was worn again in 1959 with another child.
