Among the noteworthy speakers at this event: Governor Elmer A. Benson and Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, J. P. Devaney. Henry Gallagher served as Municipal Judge of Waseca; also served on the Waseca School Board; served as Waseca County Attorney for several years; member of Industrial Commission of Minnesota; was appointed as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Minnesota on February 17, 1937, to succeed Chief Justice John P. Devaney. He was elected to succeed himself in 1938 by the largest majority ever given a candidate for Chief Justice.
