Carlton; pupils or students are Richard Matz, Louis Schneider, Frank Erwin, Eugene Kelley, Hazel Gilhart, Albert Merritt, Ruth Phelps, Bernard Matz, Edna Schneider, Herbert Kelley, Ashley Gilhart, Betha Merritt, Lester Merritt, and Stafford Phelps; bound with faded red cord and tassel. School District 17; located in Waseca County, St. Mary Township, Section 11, Franklin School, Phelps School.
The donor is the great-grandson of William Everett, co-founder with Aughenbaugh, of the EACO Mill in Waseca County. The Everett home, built by William's son Edward Everett, overlooking the east end of Clear Lake, was a showplace in its time, a classic Victorian-style home, it was demolished in 1958 it was an architectural and historical loss to Waseca County. William R. Everett was born in Waseca, Minn., on May 13, 1891. Rural School District No. 17. From a photographic album of all 94 schoolhouses in Waseca County; photographed and compiled by H. E.
