New Richland business: Schwenke Jewelry. Emil Schwenke started in the bulding that became the Underwood Cafe. He sold all kinds of fine articles like jewelry, eye glasses, and musical instruments; he also handled bicycles. At one time, Schwenke owned the building next to the liquor store/bank and lived on the second floor. His last place of business was the narrow building between Ole's Cafe and Billy's Barbershop on the east side of South Broadway.
