Marvel Bethke and Clarence Kroeger. Material: wood, glass, metal, textile, paper, beads. Size: 21" W. x 27" L. x 5 1/2" D. Description: gilded ornately carved frame with clear glass insert - brown wooden box backing - contents of box under glass: white lace bridal veil and train, beaded headpiece, faux orange blossom, cardboard framed black and white photo print of wedding party.
Memoribilia displayed in framed box from the wedding of Marvel Bethke (b. 2/21/1918) and Clarence Kroeger (b. 1910 and died 1969). The wedding, February 23, 1938 was at 1:30 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wilton. Bridesmaids: Lucille Bethke, Erma Manthey and Dorothy O'Neil. Flowergirl: Shirley O'Neil. Reception: Bethke home. Evening shower and dance: 2nd floor Waseca City Hall that stood on south State Street by the railroad tracks. It was the last dance held there before the building was demolished.
