Army Dog Tags of Edward E. Bevens. Material: metal, textile. Size: 1 3/8" diameter. Description: silver colored lightweight metal - stamped: "Edward E. Bevens U.S.A." on the front - reverse side stamp: "3127603" - hole pierced through top - two tags joined with cotton cord.
This type of tag is also known informally in the U.S. military as a "dog tag". Ed Bevens grew up at 515 6th Ave. S.E., Waseca, MN; after WWI service, he left Waseca in his Model T Ford for Stillwater, Minnesota where he worked in the state prison. Ed Bevens is the son of David and Amanda Bevens, Armanda?; also he was the brother of Effie Bevens Nelson; Effie is the grandmother of the donor Charlotte Jenson.
