Note on back of painting:" This work, depicting activities of the American Red Cross from 1881 to 1981, was painted to celebrate the centennial of the Red Cross in 1981. 300 copies were sold as a fundraiser for Red Cross. Painting was commissioned by the American Red Cross and was painted by Lloyd Herfindahl in 1981. It is #88 of 300 printed. Michael Hecht purchased it for $100.00; Leroy Gasner framed the print and it was presented to the Waseca Chapter of the Red Cross. The people depicted are involved in Red Cross work on the national and state level and people receiving Red Cross services.
