Taupe Fedora. Material: textile, plastic, leather. Size: 11" W. x 12" L. x 4" H. Description: taupe wool felt - creased lengthwise down high crown and pinched in the front crown on both sides - brim encircles crown - grosgrain ribbon encircles crown above brim - grosgrain edging around brim - black leather sweatband - white satin lining - shield logo of the Adam Company of Fifth Avenue New York stamped inside crown - clear plastic covers inside crown.
The fedora is a soft felt hat with a crease lengthwise down the crown and pinched in the front on both sides. Similar hats with a C-crown (with an indentation for the head in the top of the crown) are occasionally called fedoras. It is usually worn by men, but women's versions can also be found. Artifacts were separated from #9.04 donor agreement form before they were entered into database.
