Print Composing Ruler. Material: wood. Size: 5/8" W. x 18" L. Description: natural light colored wood - black and red lettering - two thin layers adhered together - one side stamped "Picas" and numbered in the sequence 6, 12, 24, 30, 36, 42, 48, 54, 60, 66, 72, 78, 84, 90, 96, 102, and 108 - black vertical lines indicate fractions - below Pica measurements: "Inches" and numbered 1-18 - below Inch measurements in red print: "1 Column, 2 Column, 3 Column, 4 Column, 5 Column, 6 Column, 7 Column, 8 Column" and red vertical lines indicating column width.
Used by Walter Child from 1872 to April 25, 1901 on the Waseca Weekly News, the Waseca Herald and the Waseca Radical.
