White Net Dress of Mabel Van Loh. Material: textile, metal. Size: 15 1/2" W. across shoulders x 53" L. Description: white cotton net with a high rounded neckline edged with 1" W. lace, tatted floral applique on bodice yoke; full gathered bodice from yoke to waistline; short butterfly sleeves edged with 2" W. scalloped lace trim; ruffled lace extends over shoulder on both sides; vertical bands of 1" W. lace extend from waistline to mid-skirt where they meet a 1 1/2" W. horizontal lace band; 1 1/2" W. horizontal lace band encircles skirt edge about 3" above hemline; back closure in long placket with hooks and thread loops.
Donor's grandfather was Harry C. Van Loh, Superintendent of Schools in Waseca County from 1910-1935. Gown worn by Mae Virginia Mabee on her wedding day 1 September 1909. Mae married Harry VanLoh in Blue Earth County, MN.
