Five pages of By-Laws of the Waseca Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors, revised and approved November 1987.
The Chamber Ambassadors or "Redcoats" were created in 1982, as a committee operating as the good will arm of the Chamber of Commerce; by providing visibility to various Chamber functions including visits by dignitaries and special community and Chamber events. They wear their red sport coats and matching ties as the "uniform" of the group. They present awards to area businesses: First Dollar Award, Progress Award, and ROOTS Awards at monthly visits. They elect their own members and officers as is necessary to maintain 21 members including the Chamber president. They hold an annual fundraiser called The Bash every March. They meet monthly on the second Tuesday at 7:30 a.m. at First National Bank. The Ambassadors works with sub-committees to develop projects providing social opportunities for members: Golf Day, Annual Banquet, Business After Hours, Business of the Year, Boss of the Year, etc.
