State at 2nd Ave. S.E.; married Catherine (Kate) O'Brian; his five children - William Dennis Smith (b. Feb 16, 1883, d. May 3, 1916, m. Phoebe Lortis, 1903), Emmons H. Smith, Jr. (b. Sept 4, 1884), Edna Mae Smith (b. Nov 27, 1885, m. Harry A. Fowler, 1905), Margaret Mary Smith aka Babe, b. July 27, 1889, m. D. C. Steele, 1909), Earle James Smith (b. Oct 29, 1901, m. Gretchen Heath, 1922)
