"Do you charge anything," asked Governor Elmer Anderson, "or are you letting them in free?" Governor Anderson was speaking over the Johnson Company's Personal Messenger to Gerald Nichtern, who was assisting in parking cars during the two-day open house. Nichtern, who normally works in the maintenance department, replied to the Governor that he "Was letting them in free." Holding the Personal Messenger at left is Johnson's chief engineer, A.M. Pichitino.
