Averill Warburton Cutting White Satin Underdress. Material: textile and metal. Size: 15" W. at shoulders x 97" L. (includes train). Description: white satin and Chantilly lace underdress: sleeveless, v-neckline with scalloped edges, floor length extended into train; lace overdress: rounded neckline, long, set-in sleeves taper to points over wrists, each wrist trimmed with 5 satin and lace covered metal buttons; both skirts gathered to piped waistline; back closure with 39 satin and lace covered metal buttons and satin loops.
Averill Warburton was raised on a farm between Waseca and Elysian. She was married to Mr. Cutting by Reverend Hinderle on June 13, 1954 at a 3 p.m. ceremony in Grace Lutheran Church, Waseca. Averill sewed her wedding gown from material purchased at Brett's Department Store, Mankato, for $100.
