Material: textile and metal. Size: 49" W. (skirt) x 54" L. Description: ivory chiffon - round neckline - sleeveless - inverted V inserts create front bodice design - fabric gathered diagonally to inserts on each side of bustline to create fullness - two large same fabric rosettes placed diagonally on right bodice from bustline to waistline - skirt gored to create fullness - right side closure with three snaps.

George Herter was born 24 May 1911, an avid sportsman and entrepreneur; father started Herter's Department Store; George Herter started Herter's Sporting Goods, a retail and world-wide catalog business. This dress belonged to George Herter's sister, Thelma who was born and raised in Waseca.
