Material: metal, cork. Size: 13 1/2" high. Description: silver steel can with "C & NW RY" (rail yard) stamped on one side - other side stamped "Johnson, Urbana, O." inside stamped diamond - cork stopper attached to chain that is hooked to the handle.
Waseca County Railroads - Chicago & Northwestern (C & NW). Used to fill switch lights in the C & NW rail yard in Waseca County.They were required to stay lit 24 hours a day. Earl Mannie is a retired Railroad engineer. From 1945 to 1952 he ran steam engines for C & NW; then from 1952 until his retirement in 1982 he ran diesel engines. He is also a member of the Waseca Comee Odd Fellows Lodge #25.
