Late Woodland Pottery Rim Shard. Material: pottery. Size: 1" W. x 1 3/8" L. Description: gray; short vertical indentations along smooth edge shows evidence that this was once the brim of an earthenware vessel.
Dr. Schirmer of Minnesota State University, Mankato visited 2 July 2013 and determined that this is a Native American pottery rim shard from the late Woodland period.
