Samual Pfaff. 4 1/2" x 6 1/2" black and white photograph of Samual Hayes Pfaff, "born at Menomenie, Wisc., son of the late Rev. and Mrs. Daniel Pfaff. When he was three years old the family moved to Blooming Grove where his father was in charge of the German Methodist Church. Three years later they moved to Albert Lea, where Sam attended public school. In 1905 Mr. Pfaff entered into partnership with George Comee in the furniture and funeral business. In 1915 Mr. Comee suffered a stroke and sold his interest in the business to Mr. Pfaff, which he still carries on with his son, George, as Pfaff Furniture Co. and Pfaff Home for Funerals. Mr. Pfaff married Lydia Mahler who passed away November 28, 1954. The Pfaffs were the parents of one son, George, and one daughter, Hazel, Mrs. William Curran. She was killed in an automobile accident September 3, 1953. Mr. Pfaff served on the Memorial Hospital Board for 26 years, served for 12 years on Waseca County Safety Commission, has served as Chairman of the Waseca County March of Dimes Committee since its organization. He is a member of the Waseca Lions Club, the Waseca Congregational Church where he served as trustee for 16 years and as deacon for 6 years. He is a member of Tuscan Lodge #77, A.F. & A.M., served as Lodge Master in 1936. He is treasurer of the Lodge. Mr. Pfaff is a Christian gentleman, a man to be admired. 1-25-55"
