Howard Deichen. 4" x 6" black and white photograph of Howard Deichen, "born in St. Paul and graduated from Mechanic Arts High School; graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1920; started Waseca Electrical Construction Co. in 1922; was a partner with E. F. Johnson from 1920-22, when Howard built a 14 mile line to Meriden and S.E. of Waseca serving 18 customers with electricity. His venture has now grown to a system of 300 miles and is serving 1000 farms with electricity for power and light. Howard is among the first citizens of southern Minnesota to own and fly a plane. Has had a pilot license for many years and has flown nearly half a million miles without an accident. He owns a Beechcraft Bonanza plane. He is president of the Waseca Lions Club, and is one of Waseca's most highly respected citizens. It is such an honor to count him as my friend. 11-1-47"
