Henry Gallagher. 5 3/4" x 3 3/4" color photograph of Henry M. Gallagher, Chief Justice, "was born on a farm in Wilton Township, Waseca County; most highly respected and best liked man in Waseca County. Henry graduated from Waseca High School, and from the Law School at Creighton University of Omaha. He served as Municipal Judge of Waseca; also served on the Waseca School Board; served as Waseca County Attorney for several years; member of Industrial Commission of Minnesota; was appointed as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Minnesota on February 17, 1937, to succeed Chief Justice John P. Devaney. He was elected to succeed himself in 1938 by the largest majority ever given a candidate for Chief Justice. We are all hoping that when his term expires he will return to Waseca to make his home here the rest of his life. Henry has been of great help to me. Best luck to you, Henry."
During Herman Peterson's work at the Waseca County Historical Society, he collected portraits and biographies of many friends and Waseca area businessmen and professionals.
